Well yes, it is. Build by Thomas Spohr from start to finish in Germany. An optimized version of the Smith & Wesson classic 686 L-Frame revolver in .357 Magnum. Some measurements have been transcribed into metric data but the essentials are still compatible with Smith & Wesson.

Merkle Sport

Born out of a 686 Target Champion shortage, we created the Merkle Sport. The model is based on a standard 686 that is then customized in house. We sandblast the whole gun to get the satin stainless finish, mount an LPA target sight, tune the single action trigger including a rubber triggerstop and then finish it of with a Nill “Phil Hamphil” wooden pistolgrip. A superb choice for experts as well as beginners.

Since CZ has been building reliable duty guns for decades, you might think that they do not care about us sport shooters. That assumption is incorrect. The sport department has been wide awake this whole time. With the Shadow 2 model, CZ offers their classic 75 model as a 9mm hardcore sport pistol. Optimized for dynamic disciplines the Shadow 2 is beloved by IPSC shooters. But it still brings it when it comes to classic precision disciplines. Especially when choosing the 6.1 version that is fitted with a 6 inch barrel and slide here in Germany.
